The Icom M93D has a noise reduction feature for transmission and reception.

I have checked with ICOM UK and they assure me that using these features does not affect transmission strength or reduce reception. I have yet to try it but ICOM say it works well but may make some voices sound a bit metallic. Perhaps a small prices to pay for clarity.
